Winter is the most Yin time of the year, a time to turn inward, dream a little more, REST a little more. This gentle immersion workshop is an invitation to slow down and replenish in community through yin yoga, somatic movement, reflective writing and yoga nidra that will calm your nervous system and nourish every level of your physiology. Poses will stay close to the floor, targeting the deeper connective tissues of the body, focusing on the hips, legs and spine. Each pose is held for several minutes, followed by a rebound or rest period which encourages deep listening and receptivity in the body, mind and heart.

About Yin Yoga

Yin Yoga is more than just poses on a mat. It is a meditative practice that helps to unwind the nervous system, open and balance the meridians (energy channels) of the body and supports the release of physical and mental tension. The slow pace, intentional transitions and extended hold time of each posture allows for a deep state of restfulness. Props such as bolsters, pillows and blocks help to bring comfort to the body, which allows for more stillness.

About Yoga Nidra

Yoga Nidra is a guided relaxation practice that leads you into a state of restful alertness between waking and sleeping that is restorative and transformational at a cellular level. Breath awareness, body scans, and guided visualizations help to quiet the mind and relax the body deeply. The goal is not to fall asleep, but to enter a liminal state where your body rests and your awareness is expansive.
