About Art & Movement

Each session begins with child-led free play in our classroom, a time to get to know each other and follow the spark of individual interest. Some kids choose to draw or build or create collaboratively with other children. Next we move into the movement room with Lucia where we warm-up our bodies through a movement circle and introduce quality of movement and locomotor concepts that connect us to the seasons, embodying animals and elements from the natural world and expanding range of movement through fun improvisational games. Next is a short story time/snack followed by an art class with Anna exploring a variety of materials and techniques such as painting, drawing, print-making sculpture and more. These hands on classes are perfect balance of play and structure for days off of school, offering our signature bend of creative play and connection to seasonal themes, building curiosity, confidence and empowerment through the creative process.​​​.

                                                         About the Instructors 

Lucia Rich (she/her) is a movement arts educator, yoga instructor, theater artist and mother devoted to the practice of embodiment through her personal practice and teaching for the past 20 years.  Collaborations in dance, theater, clown and puppetry have taken her across the US, Canada and internationally, including Bulgaria, Turkey, Scotland, Italy, England, Germany and France.  Lucia teaches yoga and movement to all ages locally in Ossining/Briarcliff and throughout Westchester. She founded Embodied Arts & Wellness in 2023.

Anna Adler (she/her) is an artist, educator, cultural worker, and mother, functioning at the intersection of life and art. She maintains an interdisciplinary creative practice of image and object making, teaching, curating, and community building. Her work has been shown in a myriad of places and spaces, including NYC, Detroit, Prague, and Berlin, to name a few.

Important Details

Refund Policy: If your child is unable to attend for any reason, please give us a full 48 hrs notice in order to receive a refund.  Space is limited and you are reserving a spot that is hard to fill last minute. We also prepare materials in advance and pay to rent the space depending on how many children have signed up.  Thank you for understanding! ​
