Lucia Rich

Deeply devoted to embodiment, Lucia Rich has spent more than twenty years tending the creative spirit through personal practice, performance, and teaching of the sacred and expressive arts.

Drawn to movement and contemplative practice from an early age, Lucia began dancing, meditating, and practicing yoga at age ten. Her training in dance and theater led to an MFA in movement-based physical theatre from the London International School of Performing Arts (LISPA), followed by intensive study with clown and theater pedagogue Giovanni Fusetti, yoga teacher training, and years immersed in 5Rhythms, conscious dance, and psycho-spiritual healing with Melissa Michaels, Ed.D.

For Lucia, theater, somatic practice, and yoga are doorways back to the body's innate wisdom.
Her work bridges sacred and creative practice, ritual space, embodiment, motherhood, community, and expressive play.

As a choreographer, movement director, educator, and facilitator, she has taught intuitive dance, creative movement, theater, puppetry, clown, and mask work for children, teens, and adults at The New School, Hunter College, the Professional Performing Arts School in New York City, the University of Connecticut, and Perry-Mansfield, where she met her husband.

Her work in dance, physical theater, puppetry, and clown has taken her to stages and communities across the United States and internationally, including Scotland, France, Germany, Bulgaria, and Turkey.

In 2023, Lucia founded Embodied Arts & Wellness to guide people of all ages back home to themselves through somatic practice, creativity, and play. Rooted in the belief that healing and transformation arise through embodied experience, she invites people to remember the wisdom already living within them and return home to themselves.
