About Family Dance
Family Dance is the same structure as a *Dancing Home class (see below), but children are welcomed into the circle for these special events. It is so important for children to see their adults moving through their own energy in a healthy way. Children are encouraged to move, run, dance, crawl, lie down, be held in arms or carried in carriers. Adults are encouraged to dance as usual, as much as possible.
NOTE: There is no childcare available at this event. Children are welcome to attend with a parent/caregiver and are encouraged to move and dance with/alongside their grown ups.
However, it is the caregiver's responsibility to attend to their child's personal needs/sensitivities at all times. There are no noise making toys allowed, no food (in the dance space) and no phones, devices or headphones. If your child is visibly upset, crying or yelling, then it is the caregiver's responsibility to take them out of the dance space until they are calm and able to return.

About *Dancing Home
Dancing Home is a space to unwind, release what is stuck and move back into connection with your best Self. Your body's own organic movements and a carefully curated playlist lead the way along with guided instruction in this free-form somatic journey. We begin with a group warm-up and move through a wave of music that begins slowly and grows in intensity taking us through the 5 rhythms of flow, staccato, chaos, lyrical and stillness. No previous dance experience necessary. Come as you are and Dance your way Home!

About the Instructor
Lucia Rich is a SomaSource Practitioner, Yoga/Wellness Instructor and Performing Arts Educator deeply devoted to the practice of embodiment through her personal practice, performing and teaching of the Sacred and Expressive Arts. A lifelong love of movement led Lucia to train professionally in contemporary, classical, improvisational and somatic dance forms. In 2005, Lucia was introduced to conscious dance and the work of Melissa Michaels, Ed.D, founder of Golden Bridge and SomaSource in Boulder, CO. Using somatic movement as a tool for personal and spiritual growth, Lucia studied 5Rhythms dance extensively with Melissa over a 7 year training and mentorship period. In 2022, she returned to Boulder to complete her SomaSource LifeCyles Practitioner Training (*ICMETA accreditation pending) and returned to Westchester, founding Embodied Arts & Wellness in 2023.
